Last week we learned that a 28-year-old man died from injuries sustained from a stage dive during Terror’s set in Zurich, Switzerland on January 22nd. Though the stagediver — whose identity is only known as Felix A. — appeared to be OK immediately after the incident and went home under his own power, he died two days later.
Now it appears that there’s fan-filmed footage of the incident. Maybe. In the below clip, Terror frontman Scott Vogel can be heard saying “Stage dive! Stage dive, c’mon! Stage dive, c’mon!” before introducing the song “Better Off Without You,” after which no fewer than eleven stage dives occur in the course of 30 seconds, by my count. It’s not known whether any of these stage dives are the incident in question, but if one of them is… wow, I just can’t imagine how horrible the band and Vogel feel about this, as if they didn’t feel beyond shitty about it already. Meanwhile Terror released an official statement on the matter, keeping it brief:
Someone losing their precious life is saddening beyond belief – we are devastated. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Felix.
Horrible situation just got even worse. I’m at a loss for words. Don’t stage dive, people, it just doesn’t seem worth it.
