The Album Art for Edguy’s Space Police – Defenders Of The Crown Could be Considered Homoerotic

Maybe I’m reading too much into this, but the cover art for Edguy’s new album, Space Police – Defenders of the Crown, strikes me as being fairly homoerotic. I know, I know — homoerotic album art in the metal world is nothing new (see: Manowar’s entire discography). But this looks like it should be called The Village People in Space. And rarely does a pistol look more phallic than when angled to emphasized its shaft while it’s in the midst of spraying some sort of white substance out of its tip (I think it’s supposed to be post-firing smoke, but it doesn’t really look especially smokey).

I don’t really have a point. I just wanted to make mention of the fact that the new Edguy album cover looks like a dude jerking off onto his own face while an alien prepares to penetrate him anally.
