Gojira Announce Les Enfants Sauvages Photo Book + Live CD/DVD

Gojira are inarguably one of the best live bands in metal today… which is why their most recent live DVD, 2012’s The Flesh Alive, was such an incredible disappointment. The entire concert film appeared to have been directed by a hyperactive child afflicted with both ADHD and Tourette’s; the camerawork was so crazy and the editing so fast that you couldn’t really SEE anything, which is half the point of going to see a band this talented perform (as Vince once so eloquently put it, “It is just a pleasure to watch Mario Duplantier!”).

Les Enfants Sauvages, the band’s just-announced limited edition photo book and live CD/DVD set, should make up for the tragic misstep that was The Flesh Alive, if this clip of the band performing “Flying Whales” that Noisey has premiered is any indication. Note how it’s both cinematic and thorough, but filmed and edited in such a way that you can actually, like, see what the fuck is going on. It’s still not as good as ACTUALLY seeing Gojira live, but it’s probably the next best thing!

Pretty sweet, right? Here’s the full track list for the set, which was filmed at the Brixton Academy in London last year:

1. Intro
2. Explosia
3. Flying Whales
4. Backbone
5. The Heaviest Matter of the Universe
6. L’Enfant Sauvage
7. Toxic Garbage Island
8. Wisdom Comes
9. Jam
10. Oroborus
11. Drum Solo
12. The Axe
13. The Gift of Guilt

The 5” x 7”, sixty-page hardcover book “chronicling the band’s journey around the world over the last two years” also includes tons of photographs that were personally selected by The Super Duplantier Bros. So this oughta be something really special for fans of The ‘Jira.

Les Enfants Sauvages comes out March 11 on Roadrunner. You can pre-order it with a limited edition t-shirt for $45 or without the shirt for $28.
