“Regression”: Ruine Will Not Ruin Your Day

Last month, we caught wind of a new sludge outfit called Ruine, and we got very excited, on account of the band’s pedigree — specifically, Magrudergrind frontman Avi Kulawy and Mutilation Rites drummer Justin Ennis.

Well, our pals over at Noisey have now debuted the first publicly-released song from the band, “Regression,” and it more than lives up to expectations. Not only is this some filthy degenerate-style elephants marching shit, but it repeatedly takes sharp right turns in ways that are at once unexpected and completely organic. It’s both unsettling and invigorating. Check it out:
