Nile’s Dallas Toler-Wade is “Shackled by Sobriety” in a Narcotic Wasteland
Nile guitarist/vocalist Dallas Toler-Wade has a new project called Narcotic Wasteland, whose single, “Shackled by Sobriety,” is streaming via the below lyric video; musically I have no real problems with it, but the lyrics are pretty bad. I get that drug abuse is a serious matter, and that the ability to be subtle isn’t a prerequisite for writing metal lyrics. But the words to this song really are SO blunt as to be funny. And I’m not just saying that because I’m totally strung out right now.

Narcotic Wasteland’s self-titled debut album comes out tomorrow, a Wednesday. Presumably because whomever scheduled its release was on drugs.
