Mötley Crüe Subtly Hinting That They May Be Retiring

Metal Insider reports that Mötley Crüe have been e-mailing fans the following cryptic message:

Now, I’m obviously not a professional detective, but I did read a lot Encyclopedia Brown books when I was a kid, and I think — I THINK — this means the band is going to announce their farewell tour. I know, I know, it sounds nuts — your first thought was probably “Oh, Mötley Crüe are opening an apiary, rad!”, which is totally understandable (and would be pretty rad)… but the clues do seem to kinda suggest that the band is coming to an end, don’t they?

Man, it’s a real head scratcher. I guess we’ll find out on January 28, or when Vince Neil tells a member of the local Las Vegas press before he’s supposed to, whichever comes first.
