Thank God Brandon Lee Didn’t Live to See Caliban’s Video for “Devil’s Night”

Here’s a kicker for ya: Brandon Lee would have turned forty-nine next month. He never got to appreciate all that The Crow‘s success would have afforded him, and he never got to ride the franchise into oblivion, continuing to play Eric Draven long past the point when it made any sense, avenging the death of his grand-niece’s dog’s favorite chewing toy in A Good to Day to be a Bad Crow.

He also never had to sit through this lame fucking Crow-inspired video for Caliban’s “Devil’s Night.” I don’t believe in an afterlife, but if I did, I imagine Mr. Lee would be watching this thing going, “THIS is what I inspired? A bunch of idiots playing lame metalcore a decade after its expiration date while jumping up and down in unison? What the fuck, dudes???”

“Devil’s Night” will appear on Caliban’s Ghost Empire, which comes out February 4 on Century.
