Ram it D’ohn: Judas Priest are Gonna Be on The Simpsons

That’s right: Judas Priest will appear on this coming Sunday’s episode of The Simpsons, which is currently in the midst of its 123rd season. The episode, which is entitled “Steal This Episode,” concerns Homer discovering the joys of illegal downloading; Rob Halford and company subsequently show up to sing — what else? — “Breaking the Law.” Here are some still images of Priest in the episode:

I stopped watching new episodes of The Simpsons sometime around season seventy-two, but I look forward to watching a YouTube clip of Judas Priest’s cameo on Monday morning.

Of course, Judas Priest aren’t the first metal band to appear on The Simpsons…

…but what I can’t figure out is why the show’s creators feel the need to consistently limit metal bands to playing on the back of a truck. Are they under the impression metal fans are so dumb they can’t find their way to a regular music venue or something?
