The Tim Lambesis Trial Will Last Into 2014
Lambgoat is doing such an awesome job covering the ongoing Tim Lambesis drama that they should change their name to Lambesisgoat.
The latest? As scheduled, the As I Lay Dying vocalist (STILL?!?!?! How is that possible???) appeared in court for his arraignment today, accompanied by his attorney and a women believed to be his mother. As expected, he pled “not guilty.” A readiness conference has been scheduled for January 15, with the actual trial tentatively scheduled to begin on March 11… although no one should really expect it to begin on March 11.
And what, pray tell, is a readiness conference: Lambesisgoat explains:
“At a readiness conference, sometimes known as a pre-trial conference, the defense counsel and prosecutor will further discuss the case. The two parties can agree to resolve the case, however, if no agreement is reached, the case will proceed to trial.”
Lambgoat also seems to think that some kind of plea bargain may be struck between Lambesis and the prosecution, based on both Lambesis’ attribution of his crime to steroid abuse, and “suggested impropriety on the part of law enforcement.”
One last note of interest: if Lambesis’ trial is still going in May, the singer may have to pay $160,000 to remain out on bail, since “bond arrangements are per annum,” which is just a fancy way of saying they’re annual.
More news as it becomes available.
