#$@&%*!: Lemmy Has Diabetes

The news about Lemmy’s health just keeps getting more and more depressing. As if the fact that the dude already needs a defibrillator and suffered an “unspecified hematoma” in June wasn’t bad enough, now we have this tidbit from a new interview with Motörhead guitarist  Phil Campbell:

“Lem had a pacemaker fitted earlier in the year because he’d been suffering from irregular heartbeats, and then his diabetes started playing him up. But his ticker’s fine now and he’s made sufficient changes to his lifestyle and diet in order to combat the diabetes, it’s just that he felt he wasn’t 100 percent ready to go back on the road just yet.”

That Lemmy has so many different health issues is sadly unsurprising given his lifestyle choices (and to be clear, I’m not judging — it will probably take a miracle to get to Lemmy’s age for many members of the metal community, myself included). But that doesn’t make it any less of a bummer, obviously. I really just hope he catches a break soon. The way things have been going, he’s like one round of testing from finding out that he actually has been dead for the past ten years and just never noticed.
