The Acacia Strain are Above, The Acacia Strain are Below

The Acacia Strain’s new 7″ Above / Below — which, you’ll be surprised to learn, features two tracks, one called “Above” and one called “Below” — comes out today on Rise Records! So, naturally, now’s your chance to stream the whole thing. “Above” should sound familiar ’cause the band already made it available for streaming a couple of weeks back, but “Below” is now meeting the world’s earholes for the first time.

And ya know what? I’d say it sounds pretty much like The Acacia Strain despite the absence of key contributor Daniel “DL” Laskiewicz. I suppose The Acacia Strain are now at that point where their sound is so established that pretty much anyone with a certain resume can step in and write Acacia-like songs. New guitarists Devin Shidaker (ex-Oceano) and Richie Gomez (Ex-Molotov Solution) have done a nice job of it here. Order Above / Below here.
