Drummer Brad Fickeisen (No Salvation, ex-The Red Chord) Will Appear on New Trap Them Album
Trap Them guitarist Brian Izzi has posted the following on his Instagram account:
Fickeisen, in case you don’t know and can’t read my headline, was The Red Chord’s drummer from 2004 through 2010; more recently he’s been a part of No Salvation, another band we dig quite a bit here at MetalSucks. He’s an amazing talent and it’s little surprise that Trap Them would enlist his services; they’re a perfect match.
This does, of course, raise a question: where is Chris Maggio? If he’s split with the band, there hasn’t been any official announcement yet… but Trap Them fans have noted that he’s been performing as of late with Sleigh Bells, the not-at-all-metal band featuring Derek Miller, formerly of Poison the Well. Maggio appeared with that group on Jimmy Kimmel Live just a a couple of weeks ago — with Converge’s Ben Koller and Cave In’s Stephen Brodsky in attendance, no less (you can see them at the start of this clip standing on the left, just behind Kimmel):

So it seems like a safe bet that Maggio is no longer available to be a part of Trap Them, at least for now. That’s a shame, but fans should rest assured that they’re in good hands with Fickeisen. Here’s some footage of the man in action a few years back, during his Red Chord days:
Major thanks to reader Stephen P. for all the good info!
