I Could Care Less, Indeed: DevilDriver Announce Christmas Sweaters

DevilDriver are the latest band band to announce that they’re making a Christmas sweater. But theirs is different from all the others!!! Because theirs also comes with a scarf, a Christmas ornament, and a sticker. Merry Christmas.

In all fairness to DevilDriver, their most recent album is called Winter Kills, so on the most basic of levels, yes, this merch makes sense.

That doesn’t change the fact they’re the  umpty-ninth band to use this joke, and it’s just not funny anymore. It’s too one-noted. Any band releasing Christmas sweaters now is like the guy still making Austin Powers/”Yeah baby!” jokes. It’s played out, bruh, and it wasn’t even your joke in the first place. Make some Hanukkah yarmulkes or Kwanzaa kente and kaftans or, if your bid to get fans’ holiday money must be related to Christmas, at least do something no one else has done before — Dez Fafara as Santa Claus lawn decorations, Grinfucked Brand Egg Nog, mistletoe that gets you baked if you smoke it, I dunno, SOMETHING, for the love of the guy whose birthday Christmas commemorates. Sheesh.
