Get Your King of Pop Fix with Thriller: A Metal Tribute to Michael Jackson

Making metal covers of Michael Jackson tunes isn’t exactly a new idea — off the top of my head, Raintime covered “Beat It,” Alien Ant Farm covered “Smooth Criminal,” Periphery covered “Black or White” and so on and so forth — but re-imaging the King of Pop’s songs never seems to get old, and never before have metal covers of MJ tunes by such a star-studded cast been assembled in one place. Thriller: A Metal Tribute To Michael Jackson came out on October 22nd and is now available for streaming in full, below.

Shoo-ins like Angelo Moore, Lajon Witherspoon and Corey Glover are a slam dunk, while Chuck Billy, Rudy Sarzo and Chris Jericho are much less obvious choices but do a bang-up job as well. Here’s the tracklist, along with which metal notables contributed to each song:
