Introducing Illucinoma: Featuring New Textures Guitarist Joe Tal

If you clicked into this article you’re 100% assured of liking what you’re about to hear. Why? ‘Cause you clicked in based on your love of Textures, and because new Textures guitarist formed Illucinoma before before he joined Holland’s finest metal export earlier this year. Not that Illucinoma sound just like Textures — they don’t — but they’ve got a lot of the same elements (especially from the Drawing Circles era), and frankly I can’t imagine any fan of Textures not absolutely loving this. It’s technical, it’s groovy, it’s heavy (more death metally than Textures), it’s catchy and it’s all around just silly good. You can totally understand why Textures poached the guitar player but you’re not at all bummed that this band continues on as well!

Illucinoma’s new EP The Evolutionist will be out on November 1st, and hey, Mr. Daniel de Jongh of Textures fame makes a guest appearance on a track. Watch the video for “Pickled Punch” above and prepare to be rocked. Props to all the dudes in the band for some of the best/silliest metal faces of all time in this video.
