Exclusive Track Premiere: Philip H. Anselmo and The Illegals’ “Ugly Mug”
The Housecore Horror Film Festival kicks off this Thursday in Austin, TX!!! The four day event, presented by the legendary Philip H. Anselmo, will feature performances by Down, Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals, Gwar, Eyehategod (with Melvins drummer Dale Crover), the Melvins, Pig Destroyer, Goatwhore, Whitechapel, Repulsion, Hate Eternal, Warbeast, Pallbearer, Ancient VVisdom, Iron Reagan, Primitive Weapons, Lord Dying, White Widows Pact, and a ton of other awesome bands. And that’s not even getting into the film section of the multi-day event, which will include special screenings, filmmaker Q&As and autograph sessions, and all other manner of insanity!!!
To celebrate the launch of the event, Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals are teaming up with Scion A/V to release two never-before-heard songs from the band — one of which, “Ugly Mug,” MetalSucks is incredibly proud to be debuting below!!! The track begins with plenty of atmosphere and droning Anselmo vocals — perfect for a horror film festival! — before rocketing forth the kind of filthy, brutal attack you expect from Anselmo and company. Dare we say this is the band’s ugliest song yet?
Check out “Ugly Mug” for yourself below! A limited edition 10″ of the two-song release will be available at the festival, which kicks off off this Thursday, October 24. Digital downloads will also be available soon!
