Lars Ulrich Wants Metallica to Tour with U2 and Green Day

In a new interview with MTV News, Metallica’s Lars Ulrich wistfully recalls a time when and a bunch of other rockstars were together being cooler than you. Says Den Lille Trommeslager:

“U2 came to San Francisco two summers ago and we ended up having a lot to drink with them and Green Day following a dinner.

“I was told in the wee morning hours following this outing that members of U2, Green Day and Metallica agreed to tour together. We haven’t talked about it since, but speaking for myself, I’d be very up for that.”

Of course, this will never happen, because the amount of the money each of these groups commands would  mean that ticket price would have to make seats to see The Rolling Stones look like a club show. Which is too bad. If there’s one thing the world could really use right now, it’s a massive stadium tour co-headlined by two once-great bands and Green Day.
