Original Post:
That’s what Lambgoat is claiming. And Lambgoat is usually dead-on when it comes to these kinds of tour rumors. Here are the dates they’re reporting:
11/20 Hollywood, CA @ The Whiskey
11/24 Walnut Creek, CA @ Red House
11/26 Denver, CO @ The Marquis Theater
The biggest reason to get excitebike here is a full Norma Jean headlining set. Norma Jean were far and away the most talked-about band coming out of Summer Slaughter. People in the metal community had sorta forgotten about and gave up on them years ago, but they stormed right back with an excellent album in Wrongdoers and made people pay attention with their hypnotizing, absolutely electric live show. This is the right time for Norma Jean to go on a headliner.
KEN Mode are always stellar live, and they pair up well musically with NJ. Exotic Animal Petting Zoo aren’t a band we’ve talked about much on MS, but they certainly bring an interesting element to this tour and they fit well, even if you might not ordinarily think of them as being in the same sphere of the former two bands.
Vanna seem like the odd band out here on first glance, although upon further reflection maybe they’re not. For some reason (probably because they’re on Artery Recordings) I thought of them as a scene-y 5th gen metalcore band, but while they do have clean-sung choruses their music is still quite heavy and surprisingly un-gimmicky (and, ya know, Norma Jean have a lot of clean singing too). Check out this video and see what you think. I’m open to giving ’em a shot live.
So yeah, this tour is really cool. We’ll let you know when more dates have been announced.
