RUMOR: Suicide Silence Have Found a New Vocalist
Update, 4:54 pm: The band has released an audio snippet of a re-recording of their song “You Only Live Once” with their new vocalist… although they are still keeping the identity of that vocalist a mystery. It sure sounds like Hermida to me, though. Check it out:
Original story follows below.
Although it should be taken with a grain of salt until there’s some sort of official announcement, Lambgoat is now reporting a rumor from a legitimate (but anonymous) source that nearly a year after Mitch Lucker’s death, Suicide Silence have hired a new frontman: Eddie Hermida, of All Shall Perish fame.
Hermida certainly seems like a logical choice — he has talent, experience, cred, and geographical proximity to the rest of the band all in his favor. The question is… what would his joining Suicide Silence mean for All Shall Perish? They’ve already lost founding guitarist Ben Orum, and lead guitarist Franceco Artusato may very well be preoccupied with The Devil You Know, his new band with former Killswitch Engage vocalist Howard Jones. It’s possible that Hermida and Artusato are gonna pull double-duty, but it seems just as plausible that Suicide Silence’s gain is All Shall Perish’s conclusion.
So continue to treat this a rumor for now, and we’ll let you know when/if it’s confirmed. In the meantime, the below video of Hermida performing with SS at the Mitch Lucker tribute concert last year might give you some sense of how a Hermida-led Suicide Silence could sound.
