Abiotic Gain a New Vocalist and a New Song

Just in time for their upcoming MetalSucks-sponsored tour with Dying Fetus, Exhumed, Waking the Cadaver and Rivers of Nihil (but, alas, unfortunately not Devourment) Abiotic have announced a new vocalist in the form of Dickie Allen. This news also officially marks the first time I’ve ever seen anyone named Richard under the age of 50 willingly refer to themselves as Dick, a momentous occasion indeed.

What better way to introduce a new member to the world than via a new song? Abiotic have done just that, with about a minute and a half of footage of them rehearsing the new song “Perceptive Impurity.” Mostly it looks like the guys are all just focusing really intently on remembering their parts and playing them correctly — aka actually rehearsing, as opposed to putting on a show for the camera — but the song sounds promising:

Guitarist Johnathan Matos teased, “Get ready for album two!” in a statement announcing Allen’s addition to the band, so perhaps we’ll get a new Abiotic album in 2014.
