Enabler, Lord of The Flies EP
First, for the extremely great news, courtesy of The PRP:
Enabler will be releasing their “The Flies EP” digitally on October 01st. A physical release for the effort will follow, marking the first output for fledgling label The Compound.
This will be Enabler’s second EP in 2013, after the excellent Shift of Redemption… AND The PRP says that the band expects to release a new full-length next year. That is truly an embarrassment of riches.
Now, for the kinda weird news: the EP will include a cover of Sepultura’s “Arise.” Which would not be odd in and of itself, obviously… except that Enabler will be the third notable band to cover that song just this year, after Havok…
…and The Modern Age Slavery (whose cover I find particularly vicious and kick-ass):
Why this particular song? There’s just something in the air, I guess. But I look forward to hearing Enabler’s contribution to the group. And, hey, if one or two more bands cover the track, we’ll have enough for an EP consisting of nothing but “Arise” covers!
