Unsigned and Unholy: Pelgrim, Odetosun, Haunting Skies

Not really sure to describe Pelgrim other than modern progressive metal in the most general sense. I like that the playing is a little loose in a genre that’s ordinarily anything but. Stream their self-titled EP below:

Odetosun are another modern progressive metal band… but, as compared to Pelgrim, they’ve got a spacier edge by way of reverb and delay-soaked soaring lead guitar parts, and are perhaps a little more straight-forward. Getting a little bit of an Iron Thrones vibe from these dudes.  Here’s their new album Gods forgotten Orbits:

The guys in Haunting Skies look really young — high school-aged, possibly a little older — but they conduct themselves like musicians a decade their senior. I think they’re on the right path musically speaking even if they have some work to do in the songwriting department, but I’m mainly posting this video because I’m impressed with their stage show; so solid, poised and tight for a bunch of dudes so young.
