Lord Dying Have “Dreams of Mercy” From Cannibalistic Dwarves in New Video
It’s pretty unanimous that Red Fang are the kings of all music videos. Fortunately for everyone the dude who directed all of them — Whitey McConnaughy — is working with other bands too, otherwise we might suffocate ourselves holding our breath for RF’s new one. His latest video is for Lord Dying’s thrash-doom (doom-thrash?) single “Dreams of Mercy” from their Summon The Faithless LP released earlier this summer on Relapse Records. Lord Dying are good buddies and label-mates with Red Fang, so even though they’re far heavier and arguably more straight-up metal than the Fang dudes they still share an appreciation for the same humor. And booze.
The video kicks off with guitarist Chris Evans spotting a “free beer” sign on the side of the road (an understandable reason to stop the van) and follows the bandmembers through a series of hilarious but properly gruesome consequences for picking up free drugs in an abandoned house. Ultimately they find themselves at a grave disadvantage while face to face with cannibalistic dwarves. Funny? Yes. Totally dark and twisted? 100%. Enjoy.
