The Semi-Finals: Pantera Vs. In Flames, Ghost Vs. Sunn O)))
Yesterday’s matches were both pretty close, and ultimately, In Flames defeated Morbid Angel by only a few hundred votes. The real nail biter, though, was Ghost’s match-up against Slipknot — a bout Ghost managed to win only by about a hundred votes.
Which brings us to the semi-finals! Two of these bands will ultimately duke it out for the title of The Most Needlessly Shat Upon Band in Metal… but which band will be?!?! It’s up to you!!! Vote below. The polls close tomorrow, Thursday, August 8 at 4:30 pm EST. May the best band win…
PANTERA VS. IN FLAMES
Although their base of operations were on two separate continents, there’s a strong argument to be made that these two bands were vital to keeping metal alive throughout the often-dreary 90s. Which band doesn’t get enough credit for their contributions to the genre? You decide!!!
GHOST VS. SUNN O)))
Each of these bands has a had running theme throughout the tourney — Ghost have repeatedly defeated all other theatrical rivals, while Sunn O))) have repeatedly defeated bands who out-sell them, and, one might assume, are therefore more popular. But one’s band’s streak is about to end. Do you think Sunn O))) should have been given a ridiculously lucrative major label deal? Do you think Ghost’s costumes are more bad-assed? Make your choice!!!
