Thankfully Cattle Decapitation’s New Music Video Does Not Make Us Wanna Puke

Cattle Decapitation’s 2012 album Monolith of Inhumanity fucked all kinds of faces and may’ve even been the band’s best work yet. It received some praise from certain corners of the metalsphere, but I posit that the reason it didn’t get widespread awesomeness recognition is this: Cattle Decap have been around a long time and released a lot of albums, and people think they already know what this band sounds like. Monolith of Inhumanity really upped it to the next level and even pulled the band in a new direction, almost all DEATH METAL and little to no grind, though they’ve been leaning that way for some time now.

One thing that certainly snagged a shit-ton of headlines: their extremely disturbing and very NSFW video for “Forced Gender Reassignment.” Their latest video, for the track “Your Disposal,” is mercifully neither disturbing nor NSFW. But visually speaking it’s really neat to look at (in particular, I love the color palette and art direction) and it’s still got a healthy dose of the death metal imagery you’d expect. Plus, you get to see the 24th Greatest Modern Metal Frontman Travis Ryan doing his thang.
