Allegaeon Release a New Playthrough Video to Whet Our Appetite for Their U.S. Tour

Allegaeon have successfully crowd-funded $7,000 to help repair their van, phenomenal news that means they’ll be able to slay faces with Wretched, Abiotic and Rivers of Nihil all over the U.S. in August. These four bands make for a really solid death metal lineup that’ll have you headbanging your hair off. And you know what else? Out of the four of them, I’ve only ever seen Rivers of Nihil live… so I’ve got the added excitement of seeing three bands that are new to me.

To whet our appetites for the tour, Allegaeon have released a playthrough video for the track “Secrets of the Sequence” from their most recent album Formshifter, in incredibly underrated record we jam quite frequently here at the Mansion. I love watching videos like this — holy crap, Greg Burgess’ fingers are almost Loomis-like in their superhuman length and dexterity — although I do wish they’d roped co-guitarist Ryan Glisan into participating because his parts are pretty sweet too.
