Slipknot / Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor releases his new book A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Heaven TODAY, and you can preview the first chapter for free through BitTorrent.com. Taylor bills the book as “a memoir on the supernatural life” in which he reveals his experiences with the paranormal and beyond.
My interest is definitely piqued but I don’t know that I’d shell out money to buy it sight unseen, so it’s pretty cool that Taylor, BitTorrent and Da Capo Press (the publisher) are offering this opportunity to preview the book for free together with a bunch of other cool stuff.

Even though the download only offers the book’s first chapter for free, I really dig the method of delivering it through a peer-to-peer network like BitTorrent — eliminating bandwidth problems and costs — and offering it along with a bunch of add-ons that fans of Taylor will find interesting to incentivize more people to check it out. Very forward thinking, and the first time I’ve seen a book promoted in this manner.
