Video: Amon Amarth Perform… on a Viking Ship!
Amon Amarth were always gonna be one of the best bands on this year’s Mayhem Fest, because, well, they’re Amon A-fucking-marth. But I guess the band had a meeting and were like “Hey, we’re not satisfied just kicking ass with our awesome performances of our awesome songs — let’s add some spectacle!” And so they decided to have a giant viking ship built for them to perform atop.
The band has been performing with this, uh, special attraction in Europe as of late, but if I’m not mistaken, this makes its North American debut.

Mastodon take the stage after Amon Amarth, and as much as I love Mastodon… I would not wanna follow this. Unless that quartet is now riding out onto the stage atop a giant animatronic mastodon. That’d be way cool.
