Periphery’s Misha Mansoor is Making a Solo Album

Speaking of insanely popular metal musicians: ever hung out near Periphery’s merch table at one of their shows? Misha Mansoor gets MOBBED. No joke. Dude should change his name to “Messiah Mansoor.”

So this announcement, made via his Facebook page, should induce religious fervor:

Metal Injection points out that “Misha has previously released a ton of solo instrumetnal tracks under the moniker of ‘Bulb’” — including some demos that went on to be Periphery tracks, and the song “Heliovice” that Mansoor refers to in his Facebook post:

This is obviously good news for all of us Mansoor fans, but I think the coolest part about it is that Mansoor is soliciting fan input as to what should actually appear on the album. If Marty Friedman had done anything like that when I was a teenager, I think my brain would have exploded. I love the 21st century!
