Cinderella’s Tom Keifer Crushed The Late Show With David Letterman
Its significance may not exactly rock u, but for old people it’s mind-blowing that on Tuesday night, Cinderella frontman Tom Keifer (above right) appeared on American TV. (Like, any American TV period.) And it was a classy show viewed by millions and hosted by a pillar of American comedy on which the ace songwriter performed. Whoa. So, Kiefer stood in the spot usually filled by y’know cool, viable acts like Queens Of The Stone Age, Jim James from My Morning Jacket (Wednesday), Steve Martin’s bluegrass thing (tonight) — not some haggard (but awesome) singer from a shameful ’80s hair metal crew. Still, it’s an inspired booking, cuz Kiefer’s taut jamz are in the wheelhouse of the white rockist crowd that fills Letterman’s set (and who resist our ilk). It’s awesome that this fact was noticed by somebody who matters! Crank it :)
