Fear, Emptiness, Decibel: Check Out Decibel‘s Extremely Extreme Podcast!!!
Before there were blogs there were these things called magazines, and the only metal magazine we still get excited about reading every month is Decibel. Here’s managing editor Andrew Bonazelli…
Thanks to Gordon Conrad—formerly a big brain at Relapse, currently holding shit down at Season of Mist, eternally a trusted Yoda figure in the Decibel universe—we now have a Decibel podcast. It’s a really good idea, but I now hate him for having it. Metalsucks are used to these things: Chuck and Godless have been banging them out here every week since the middle of May. Once a week… Jesus Christ. I barely shower once a week.
So, yeah, this is a new endeavor for us that will entail a lot of stammering and butchered-at-birth growing pains, but hopefully, eventually, a modicum of entertainment—and even information. The first Decibel Magazine Extremely Extreme Podcast, streaming here, largely consists of yours truly and our editor-in-chief Albert going in-depth to preview the August issue. But Podcast Numero Dos is also in the can, and in that one the training wheels come off, as we corralled some very special guests to mercifully keep us off the mic. And that’s hopefully the kind of thing you’ll be hearing going forward.
Anyway, these podcasts will be recorded on our home turf of Philly. As you all know, there are plenty of compelling extreme music figures out here, both onstage and behind the scenes. Any specific guests you guys would like to hear?
The August 2013 issue of Decibel features Amon Amarth, Pig Destroyer, Death Angel, and an awesome Dark Tranquillity flexi disc. You can purchase it here. But why not just get a full subscription to ensure that you never miss an issue?
