Take Your Shirt Off and Listen to Some More High on Fire Live Jamz
I can’t say why eOne decided to stream High on Fire’s new double-disc live album in backwards order, but I don’t think anyone’s really complaining. On Tuesday we got to hear disc 2. and today we can listen to Volume 1 in full through Pandora. So make Matt Pike proud: take your shirt off RIGHT NOW and crank the fuck out of this album! And, of course, smoke ’em if ya got ’em.
This is the first time I can recall a prominent metal band running any kind of premiere through Pandora. Perhaps Pandora is trying to make a concerted push into the metal world following Spotify’s lead, or perhaps they’re making moves to prepare for Apple’s oncoming attack? Perhaps they’re just huge High on Fire fans. What’s neat, you don’t even have to register or log in to listen.
Spitting Fire was recorded at two different NYC shows on consecutive nights (The Music Hall of Williamsburg and The Bowery Ballroom), then the audio was mixed by Greg Wilinson at Earhammer Studios in California with additional engineering by Converge’s Kurt Ballou. We’re still not sure whether each disc represents one show or whether they were comped together and the discs go back and forth between shows. Pre-order this bad boy right here before its June 18 release.
