Fred Durst Hasn’t Heard Emmure

We’ve referred to Emmure as “the new Limp Bizkit” many times here on MetalSucks (like here and here). But the similarities between the two bands isn’t surprising when you consider that Emmure’s Frankie Palmeri is a massive Limp Bizkit fan who has publicly declared his love to Fred Durst and said he wants to tour with the Bizkit.

So I have to imagine this news must be fairly heart breaking for Palmeri: Fred Durst has never heard Emmure’s music (although he has heard of Emmure, primarily, it seems, because their manager has hounded Durst about them in the past). And even with that being the case, he doesn’t think a Limp Bizkit/Emmure tour would be a good idea, because “I honestly feel like, the more different things are from us, the better the package.”

Metal Injection made the revelation when interviewing Durst and Wes Borland on the Metal Injection Livecast a couple of weeks ago:

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I actually think it would be foolish for Limp Bizkit to turn down Emmure as a support act. How else do they expect to attract a new generation of fans? A hit video on MTV? Frankie would hype the shit out of this tour to his fans. It would really be a win-win for all parties involved (note: intelligent society is not one of the parties involved).
