Ex-Eighteen Visions / Ex-Bleeding Through Bassist Mick Morris is Dead
Alternative Press is reporting that ex-Eighteen Visions / ex-Bleeding Through bassist Mick Morris — aka “Mickdeth” — has passed away. He had recently been in and out of the hospital for an unspecified heart condition, but his friends claim that he had been released. He died in his sleep last night, possibly at home, although it isn’t clear.
Morris moved to Orange County to join Eighteen Visions during the Vanity touring cycle and stayed with the band through the release of Obsession and the self-titled record until they broke up in 2007. He’s since worked as a tech for Hatebreed, at Century Media, and at Soundcheck Hollywood.
Eighteen Visions broke up in 2007 shortly after this site launched, so we never got to cover a new record cycle of theirs on MetalSucks. Sergeant D published a loving tribute to them in 2011, to which I lent an assist. Read it here.
Head over to AP for more info about Morris’ life. On behalf of everyone at MetalSucks, we send our best to Mick’s family, friends and former bandmates.
