Sing Softly Against the Machine
This is Lauren Mayberry:
As you can probably guess from Lauren’s appearance, she is not metal. She sings for a Scottish group called CHVRCHES, who I had never heard of until like five seconds ago. Metal Insider says that they’ve “been making the Pitchforks of the world perk up their ears,” which explains why I’ve never heard of them. I’m listening to them now though and they’re actually pretty good. And their video is really cool.
ANYWAY, the reason I’m talking about Ms. Lauren Mayberry is because apparently she used to be in a group called Blue Sky Archives, who recorded a most unusual cover of Rage Against the Machine’s classic “Killing in the Name.” Basically, the removed the “rage” from Rage Against the Machine and made the song all indy and touchy-feely. I assumed I was gonna hate it when I hit “play,” but actually, I don’t think it’s half-bad. This Mayberry seems like a very talented young lady who associates herself with fine projects.
I must be getting soft in my old age.

And I can’t imagine any reason why I need to include this, but what the hell:
