Gorguts Announce Mini-Tour; New Album This Year?
Good on No Clean Singing for picking up on this newly uploaded live video of Gorguts, pro-shot footage of the band performing in Quebec in October 2012. We had the opportunity to see this newly rejiggered Gorguts lineup slay Brooklyn a couple of years ago — with drummer John Longstreth (Dim Mak, Origin, The Red Chord, Skinless), bassist Colin Marston (Dysrhythmia, Indricothere, Behold… The Arctopus, Krallice), and guitarist Kevin Hufnagel (Dysrhythmia, While Heaven Wept) joining founding member and guitarist/vocalist Luc Lemay — and the performance was so strong, so tight, so death metal, so GORGUTS, that it only further served as a cock-tease for new material… which we’re still waiting for. Fortunately the band announced a new deal with Season of Mist this past February, and though they stopped short of explicitly saying we’d get a new album this year they did say that “2013 will be a great year for Gorguts.” So we shall see.
Gorguts just announced a short tour of the East Coast this coming September, so at least there’s that to look forward to for now. Dates below:
9/5 Springfield, VA @ Empire
9/6 Raleigh, NC @ Hopscotch Festival
9/7 Wilmington, DE @ Mojo 13
9/8 Worcester, MA @ Palladium
