If Queens of the Stone Age Sat by the Ocean, They’d Have a Tail
Queens of the Stone Age performed two new songs, “I Sat by the Ocean” and “If I Had a Tail,” for Belgian radio station Studio Brussel recently; you can listen to the performances below. Between these, “My God is the Sun,” and “I Appear Missing,” we have now hear forty percent of the band’s new album, …Like Clockwork, which, I think, is enough to make a few judgments. Such as:
- Josh Homme is a narcissist.
- …Like Clockwork is going to be another QOTSA album that is basically pretty good but also basically fails to be bring the rock.
In all fairness, I have been enjoying these songs much more than any of the band’s other post-Songs for the Deaf material. I’ll still pine for the days of Nick Oliveri, though.
Here are “I Sat by the Ocean” and “If I Had a Tail”:
…Like Clockwork is out June 4 on Matador Records.
