The Faceless Miss Dates with The Dillinger Escape Plan and Royal Thunder; Are They Stuck in Texas?
The Dillinger Escape Plan’s current tour is one of the most exciting of the year so far, and not just because DEP rule live — but because the support acts are The Faceless and Royal Thunder, two bands that also rule live, and sound nothing like DEP, or one another, for that matter. In other words: the diversity of the bill is great!
Alas, it would appear that The Faceless have missed at least two dates on the tour, and might be missing more.
MetalSucks started receiving e-mails over the past few days from disappointed fans reporting that the band had not performed in Lancaster, PA on Monday, nor Albany, NY last night. Now fans have also taken to the band’s Facebook page to express their upset:
As that last post indicates, there are also fans on Facebook claiming that The Faceless are stuck in The Lone Star State:
But it’s not clear where people are getting this info. Interestingly enough, the band have themselves been posting on Facebook over the course of the past few days, but have made no mention of missing any performances. Ditto their Twitter account, where they even make mention of tonight’s show in Buffalo, which, I assume, means they have managed to get the hell out of Texas and will indeed be joining the tour now.
While I absolutely do not think it’s worth skipping this tour if The Faceless aren’t present — DEP and Royal Thunder on their own should be more than enough to get you through the door — I do have to agree that some kind of notice/explanation for fans would be nice. It does seem clear, after all, that at least some folks are attending these shows specifically to see The Faceless.
We’ve reached out to reps for the band and will update this story as soon as we have more info.
