Phil Anselmo’s “Rock N’ Roll Manifesto”: AC/DC Becomes Poetry
A German music magazine called Visions commissioned the below video, entitled “Rock N’ Roll Manifesto.” It’s basically some very gritty-yet-poetic footage of life in a rock band set to Schubert’s “Piano Trio in E-Flat,” and Phil Anselmo giving a poetic reading of AC/DC’s “It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘n’ Roll).” It sounds like a pitch for a cheesy-as-fuck Levi’s commercial, but the combination of the the Schubert and Anselmo’s mellifluous reading voice give the whole thing an odd beauty. Is Anselmo the Morgan Freeman of metal???
Thanks: Dan
