The Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival Lineup Has Been Announced! (again)

As you may have read on this very website last week before we were asked to pull the article down in advance of today’s official press conference, a radio station in Rhode Island leaked the lineup for this year’s Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival. This time around Ticketmaster.com and LiveNation.com have done the leaking by posting two dates with the complete lineup, one in Albuquerque, NM and one in Noblesville, IN. And that lineup is:
- Rob Zombie
- Five Finger Death Punch
- Mastodon
- Amon Amarth
- Children of Bodom
- Behemoth
- Emmure
- Born of Osiris
- Motionless In White
- Thrown Into Exile
- Machine Head
- Job for a Cowboy
- Butcher Babies
- Battlecross
- The Huntress [sic]
As is usually the case, there’s a pretty good mix of bigger, more “mainstream” metal acts that appeal to the general populace and [relatively] smaller, more credible acts that appeal to people like you and me. It’s not clear who is playing which stage, or how many stages there will be, but the good news is that if you’re going for Mastodon, Amon Amarth, Behemoth, Machine Head, etc, you can probably get ahead of traffic and leave early before Five Finger Death Punch and Rob Zombie go on! I’m actually curious to see Zombie, though; I’m not a huge fan of his music, but from what I remember of his live show (which I last saw on Ozzfest in the mid ’00s) he’s quite an entertaining performer, and he says “Yeah!” a lot which is always tons of fon, especially when our friend Luis is around.
