Clutch Achieve “Crucial Velocity”
We’re just about a week away from the release of Clutch’s awesome new album, Earth Rocker (review), but if you’re super-impatient about hearing some new earth-rockin’ music before then — and it’s Clutch, so, really, who could blame you if you are? — then you’re in luck: NPR is now streaming the track “Crucial Velocity.”
The whole song is good, but personally, I’m really fond of the part where vocalist Neil Fallon addresses himself by his first name. That’s a very bluesy thing to do, and I, for one, would love to see more of it in the metal. Like, wouldn’t it just be so great if on the next Behemoth album, there was a section where Nergal was like, “And people say to me, ‘Nergal, don’t you bring that gun into that church!’ But I just can’t help myself, baby.” I’d be so on board with that.
ANYWAY, stream “Crucial Velocity” here. Earth Rocker comes out March 19; Clutch are on tour with The Sword and Lionize right now. Get dates here.
