Kvelertak Live: Never Underwhelming

Even if I find Kvelertak’s new album, Meir, to be underwhelming, I’m not gonna pass up the chance to see them live… especially not when they’re headlining, and support is coming from Black Tusk and Cancer Bats. I’ve never been to a Kvelertak show that wasn’t a total party. And also, I’m not gonna lie — I hate that I don’t love Meir. I was SO EXCITED for it, and I want to love it so badly, and I keep listening to it thinking “Maybe this time I’ll ‘get it’!”, and I just don’t. I’m hoping seeing these tunes in the middle of a total Norwegian blow-out will finally win me over.

I’m also hoping at least one song is performed by kids impersonating Kvelertak, but I think that’s probably less-likely.
