Resolution15: Never Has Metal Been So Violin[t]

If you think you’ve heard of Resolution15 already, it’s because we’ve written about them before: if not, know that these violin-wielding NYC metal warriors are like nothing you’ve ever heard. Forget folk, pagan or any of the baggage that usually comes with violins when they’re associated with heavy music… and imagine straight up METAL that’s simply got distorted violins instead of distorted guitars. It’s an unusual approach to be sure, but this is no usual band.

Violinist Earl Maneein has played with Florence & The Machine semi-regularly and appeared with them on SNL, Jimmy Fallon, and MTV Unplugged. He has also performed with the likes of Jay-Z and Steven Tyler, and has recorded with Rihanna, Alicia Keys and Albert Hammond Jr. of The Strokes. Trumping up a band member’s resume shouldn’t have any impact on your opinion of their creative output, but it should serve to show you that Resolution15’s musical influences are wide and deep.
