Amaranthe’s “The Nexus” Stinks Like Green Farts

Amaranthe — a band so terrific that I completely forgot I’ve written about them before until I ran a search — a band so creative that they’ve never heard an early-Aughts In Flames riff that they couldn’t recycle — a band that looked at Lacuna Coil and said, “Forget having a hot female vocalist and one forgettable male vocalist, we’re gonna have two forgettable male vocalists!” — have released a new Patrick Ullaeus-directed video, for the song “The Nexus.” And maybe I’m vastly over-valuing the cost of hiring a bunch of actors to play military dudes plus weapons, costumes, sets, a fight choreographer, etc., etc., but the video looks pretty expensive. I think that money probably could have been better spent, though, on, say, I dunno, aiding sick children, or hiring songwriters.

“The Nexus” is the title track from Amaranthe’s new album, which comes out March 26 on Spinefarm.
