Drowned Resurface with Two New Songs
Fans of Necros Christos, Cruciamentum, Grave Miasma, Incantation (you know what I’m getting at here: dark, occult, evil metal of death), take note. After releasing 2006’s brilliant ‘Viscera Terrae’ MCD (Nuclear Winter), German death cult Drowned went on a hiatus of sorts after the departure of founding member Mors Dalos Ra (who currently helms Necros Christos). As he told me in a 2012 interview, “I had to get myself out of Drowned`s activities, mostly due to my less time. As far as I know, Mister Shepherd and his new neophytes have several songs written and a full length isn`t out of sight, that`s the good news here…This band deserves so much more recognition, let`s hope they will come up with something new and outstanding very soon.”
It looks like that wait is nearing its end, as the revamped lineup have just posted a couple new tracks from a recent rehearsal session, with bassist G. ST taking over vocal duties, Tlmn (formerly of Necros Christos) back on guitar, and drummer T.NGL. It’s a promising beginning – the ancient atmosphere and crushing riffs are there, and G.ST’s vocals are a fitting successor to Mors Dalos Ra’s imposing bellow.
