“Hyperthrash:” Nylithia Prove They’re Ready for the Big-Time in New Video
Will some label please sign this band? They’re ready.
Here’s how No Clean Singing describes Nylithia’s blend of new-school thrash: “This ain’t no retro-thrash. It’s thrash from some accelerated parallel universe. It’s a balls-to-the-wall, fret-burning, drum-shredding, neuron-twisting explosion.”
One might even accurately call it Hyperthrash, which is the name of their forthcoming album which seems perpetually about to come out. The plan, starting in June of 2011 with the release of a slammin’ track called “Trainsaw,” had been to release one song per month, along with a video for each, and then release everything all at once together at the end. The planned pace has slowed down considerably (much to my disappointment), but every time Nylithia do come out with something it’s consistently great. Check out the aforementioned “Trainsaw,” “Immersed in the Maniacal,” and “Vein of Creation” for three cuts of Hyperthrash madness.
Late last year we got the album’s title track, and today we get a video for that track. It’s just a bunch of performance clips, but the power of these clips underscores just how ready this band is to take it to the big time. Record labels oughtta sign this band ASAP before someone else does, because I know a bunch of labels are already crawling all over them.
