New Exivious Album on the Way!
Before blending jazz fusion and metal became cool, the three Dutch lads in Exivious were cranking out wicked jams whenever time off from their day jobs in Cynic and Textures allowed. Stream their entire 2009 self-titled debut record on Spotify for free right this second if you’ve never heard it before; it’s guaranteed to create instant stiffies the Internet over.
Exivious 2k12 finds the band members in different places — guitarist Tymon Kruidenier and bassist Robin Zielhorst are no longer in Cynic, and the #16 Greatest Metal Drummer in the World Stef Broks of Textures has stepped down from Exivious — but new music from the band promises to be no less exciting. Check out this preview video of the new Exivious album Liminal featuring some clips of new tunes from the studio and new drummer Yuma van Eekelen:
The band is raising funds in a Kickstarter-style crowd-sourcing campaign to finance the album’s recording and distribution, and they’re offering a number of enticing packages for various levels of donation (including signed copies, t-shirts, Skype lessons with any band member and more). You can donate to the cause and pre-order the album package of your choice right here. As of this writing, they’re 63% of the way towards reaching their goal of €8,000 (roughly $10,344).
