One for the Canadians: 7 Horns 7 Eyes Winter 2013 Tour

It’s not often that we post about tours that stay confined to within Canada’s borders, but today we do for the following reasons: 1) we’d like to throw a bone to the 7.35% of our readership that resides in the great country to our north, 2) it’s a good excuse to post about 7 Horns 7 Eyes, a band that released one of my favorite albums of 2012, 3) this night is different from all other nights.*

7 Horns 7 Eyes are actually from Seattle, but whatwith their home state’s recent decision to legalize recreational marijuana use and their proximity to the U.S. northern border they may as well be palling around with Devin Townsend in Vancouver. The band sounds like the best parts of [heavy era] Opeth combined with Nevermore [if Nevermore had death metal vocals] rolled into one. Here’s the opening track from their early 2012 debut album Throes of Absolution:
