Devy’s Casulaties of Cool Is Almost Done, Ghost 2 Might be Bonus Disc
Devin Townsend never stops. Why release only six albums in as many years if you can release nine in that same period of time?
That’s exactly what Devy is gunning for, if all his plans come to fruition. According to a Tweet [via Metal Insider],
Casualties is almost done, and though different, it’s a great vibe and different from anything I’ve done, though close to the darkness of Ki

And, as if one new Devy album wasn’t enough:
Oh yeah, the bonus disk for Casualties will be the Ghost 2 stuff. =)

(Thats the hope at this point at least…)

Devin’s been talking about Casualties of Cool since back in February. Here’s what he had to say about it then:
… a duo with myself and Che (ki)… it sounds like haunted Johnny cash songs. late night music, completely isolated sounding and different than anything I’ve done. Che sings most of the leads, and it’s probably the truest reflection of who I am in life at this point. Trying to release it in tandem with Epicloud.
Needless to say the “in tandem with Epicloud” thing didn’t happen, so it stands to reason that the Ghost 2 thing might not either, especially given Devin’s qualifying follow-up Tweet. But hey, one new Devin album is better than none, especially as Devin is describing it; Ki was my personal favorite album of the four-part DTP suite, so I really, really look forward to hearing more like it.
None of this even mentions Z2, the follow-up to Ziltoid the Omniscient, which has been rumored practically since the latter was released and has been mentioned by Townsend himself on multiple occasions. I guess that’ll happen whenever Devin’s out of more interesting ideas he feels compelled to release first.
