New DEVOURMENT Album Coming Soon; Forecast Calls for Severe Pit Riffment

If you are like me and you spend your nights tossing and turning, fretting about the sad state of the slam scene in 2012, you will be happy to hear that the genre’s posterboys DEVOURMENT have a new album in the works courtesy of RELAPSE RECORDS (whose roster includes some of today’s hottest bands such as CANDIRU, CONVULSE, and EXIT-13).

This teaser is pretty light on info, but what’s here definitely piques my interest. The production sounds thick, solid, and tight (always DEVOURMENT’s achilles heel in the past), the riffs go hard as fuck, and of course the vocals are an ultra-compressed barely audible gurgle as they should be. Of course I would have liked a more St Anger-like snare but you can’t have everything, and I’m sure this album will bring the pit riffment either way.
